About the Kids’ Outdoor Adventure EXPO
The philosophy of the Kids’ Outdoor Adventure EXPO is to get kids EX-CITED about ENJOYING and PROTECTING our most precious resource: WATER!
Kids’ Outdoor Adventure EXPO is the largest outdoor environmental education and water safety event for youth in Ohio. It features a variety of opportunities for Cincinnati-area children to get their feet wet learning about Water Safety and the Environment! The EXPO will consist of 25-minute, outdoor presentations designed to engage, educate, and entertain young minds. It is open to the general public, as well as to youth groups, scout groups, community groups, and summer camps.
Activities include:
- Water testing aboard the PA Denny River Education Center; Cincinnati's first floating classroom for the Ohio River!
- Water Safety Demonstrations!
- Canoe and Rafting Trips on Lake Como with Morgan's, Canoe Kentucky, and Thaxton's Licking River Canoe Rental!
- Kayaking for little ones on Cincinnati Recreation Commission's Paddling Pond!
- Fishing on Lake Como!
- Hands-on Ohio River science activities with students from Thomas More College's Ohio River Research Station!
- "Life Under our Feet" demonstrations with Hamilton County Soil and Water Conservation District!
- A fun and informative "Gooey Garbage" activity presented by Hamilton County Department of Environmental Services
- Live Music Shows!
- Lock and Dam demonstrations and fun outdoor experiments with Riverworks Discovery!
- Live Animals
- Exhibits from local organizations designed to show you and your kids how to get involved in making our local communities safer and healthier!
