RiverWorks Discovery©: A Journey of Exploration and Imagination on America’s Waterways.

RiverWorks Discovery (RWD) is a nationally recognized education outreach effort of the National Rivers Hall of Fame located at the National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium in Dubuque, Iowa. The program teaches children and their families about the commerce, culture and conservation of America’s rivers and their watersheds. RWD has educated more than 400,000 children and families since its inception through involvement with various festivals, conferences, seminars, school presentations, and hands-on workshops.

RWD® began as an educational outreach program of AEP River Operations and was gifted to the Museum & Aquarium along with ongoing financial support from AEP. Today, RiverWorks Discovery has 69 co-sponsors and 30 non-profit partners who have made it possible to provide free educational materials and presentations to more than 400,000 people nationwide. Please visit www.riverworksdiscovery.org for a complete listing of co-sponsors and partnering organizations and to learn more about RWD programming.

Visit the RiverWorks Discovery educational exhibit sponsored locally by AEP River Operations, Cincinnati Bulk Terminals and McGinnis Inc., at the Paddlefest Kids Outdoor Adventure Expo! You’ll learn more about the different types of boats on our nation’s great waterways through hands-on activities that include large scale vessel puzzles and a working lock and dam model.
