In Memory of Jim Shaw

We are dedicating our 8.2 mile float trip to the memory of Jim Shaw who died last Sunday kayaking on the Little Miami River. He was trying to help two paddlers whose canoe was caught in a 'strainer'. Apparently Jim's leg was caught in an anchor line that pulled him under the water. He was paddling in his own kayak with his wife and two kids who were there just feet away when he drowned. He was planning to paddle in Paddlefest.
